Check your DNA file — right in your browser

Downloaded raw data from MyHeritage, 23andMe, AncestryDNA or FamilyTreeDNA? Pick the file below and instantly see the provider, format and number of genetic markers. The file is not uploaded — everything is read locally in your browser, which you can verify in the network tab.

Pick your file

What gets checked?

  • File format: whether the file has the structure (headers, columns, separators) of a valid raw data export.
  • Provider: MyHeritage, 23andMe, AncestryDNA or FTDNA-like formats are detected automatically.
  • Marker count: how many SNP rows (rsIDs) the file contains — a healthy export usually holds several hundred thousand.
  • Compatibility: whether the file can be analyzed directly in DNAHelper.

Private by default

The tool reads the file only in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere. The same principle applies to all of DNAHelper: analysis runs locally.

DNA analysis runs locally in your browser — your raw DNA file is not uploaded. DNA Chat is optional and off by default; genetic information is sent only after your explicit consent and may then be processed outside the EU/EEA. More about DNA Chat and privacy.
