Analyze your MyHeritage data in DNAHelper
If you have taken a DNA test with MyHeritage, you can download your raw data and use it directly in DNAHelper — no new test needed.
1. Download the raw data from MyHeritage
- Sign in at myheritage.com.
- Hover the DNA tab and choose Manage DNA kits.
- Click the three dots to the right of your kit and choose Download.
- Confirm in the popups with Continue and accept MyHeritage’s terms.
- MyHeritage emails a download link to your registered address. The link is valid for 24 hours — otherwise you start over.
- Click the link in the email, enter your MyHeritage password and click Download.
2. The file you get
You get a .zip file containing a comma-separated .csv file with roughly 700,000 genetic markers. The zip can be dropped straight into DNAHelper — no need to unzip first.
3. Analyze the file in DNAHelper
Open app.dnahelper.com and pick the file. The entire analysis — parsing, scoring and display — runs locally in your browser. Your raw data file is never uploaded.
4. Your 24-hour trial
The trial starts automatically when the analysis completes — not when you open the page. You get full access for 24 hours with no registration, email or card. A local summary stays on your device afterwards.
Good to know about MyHeritage
- Raw data can only be downloaded by the person who manages the DNA kit — not someone the kit was assigned to.
- Download works on desktop or Android — not on iPhone or iPad.
- You can no longer upload raw data to MyHeritage, but downloading your own data works as usual.
Limitations
DNAHelper shows genetic traits and research associations for education — not medical diagnoses or advice. What you see depends on which markers your MyHeritage file contains.
